Everyone else was using 30 caliber rifle rounds for God's sake! It's origin was the US designed by a German immigrant for the RAF which vastly improved it with their Merlin engine.

Jun 2, 2012 - We used to make the best machines, now we hardly make anything... I wish they still did dogfights with prop planes, they're so much more majestic and have so much more human innovation attached to them ... before a time when computers and robots built everything, oh how far we think we came... Watching this makes me wish that we each get p51's in heaven, if there is such a place. Just amazing, jets don't do much for me, as I ride an old Harley.

Jun 2, 2012 - The nazis lost. Sure they came up with the jet engine, but I see turbine engines like microwaves compared to raw fire. If you want something quick and easy, mic it, but if you want something with a soul, use fire. combustion! I admit , everyone had some cool engines to show for their time, it's amazing what cool stuff people come up with, but people seem to have just as many, if not more bad ideas as they do good.
