Professor Doctor Syed Agil Husin Al Munawar: A great Ulama/theologian of Indonesia. The former Judge of the Internasional Musabaqah Recitation Tilawatil Quran in Kuala Lumpur, and the former Minister in the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Indonesia from 2001-2004. MA (born in Palembang, South Sumatra, January 26, 1954, age 58 years) is a teacher and former Minister of Religious Affairs of Indonesia. Teachers graduated from the Faculty of Sharia at the universities of Umm AI Quro Makkah (Master of Art in 1983, Ph.D. 1987) in Saudi Arabia has worked as a lecturer at several universities before becoming a minister, especially the Islamic universities such as the State Islamic Institute in several places in Indonesia. In addition, Munawar also been a Lecturer of Education Kader Ulama (PKU) Indonesian Ulema Council Centre in 1990 to 1998. Although busy with various activities, Habib Syed Agil still shows the excess to inexplicably, producing written works on fundamental principles on various ground on Islamic studies. In fact he considered a prolific writer, both in the form of books, articles, and conference papers. Among the books ever produced is jazz I `Quran and Tafseer Methodology; Usul Fiqh, History and An Introduction; Takhrij Hadith Sciences, History and A Pergantar; Development of Islamic Law schools Syafi` i: Studies Qaul Qadeem and Qaul Jadid; the dimensions of life in the Islamic Perspective. Among his notable Scholarly authored works on the bench lecture are; Ad-Dam Naql Atsaruhu fi wa ash-Sharia al-Islamiyya (S1 thesis, 1977), Al-Khamru Dhararuhu wa fi al-`Al-Insani Mujtama (S1 Thesis at the Islamic University of Medina, 1979 ), An-Nadb wa al-Karahah (thesis S2, Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah, 1983), and Verification of the Book of Hawi li al-Kabir al-Mawardi (doctoral dissertation, University of Umm Al-Qura, Makkah, 1987). In addition to writing books, articles and conference papers, he has translated more than 25 books in Arabic.
