The Bridge District in West Sacramento, California is a new smart growth project along the Sacramento River infused with $50 million from seven public funding sources and over $150 million in committed private investment. Spanning the riverfront from the historic Tower Bridge to the US Hwy-50 overpass to San Francisco, the Bridge District has been ideally situated for development since Raley Field and the nearby River Walk were completed. By 2014, it is anticpated that over 730 housing units ranging from elegant eco-design to affordable housing will be built near an extended riverfront path.
